Girl Goals: Germany Kent is Making a Meaningful Difference

Women’s History Month is a chance to recognize women who are leading with impact. One of those women is author and influencer, Germany Kent.

Recently, I was honored to have the opportunity to interview Sassy Sister Germany Kent about her international presence working to achieve gender equality and her women’s rights platform that is igniting change.

Germany is advocating for a more equitable future for women and girls worldwide. She is making a meaningful difference in our world with confidence and sass.



Getting to Know Germany Kent

A world-renowned philosopher and influencer, Ms. Kent’s writings about life have been widely published. She focuses on human rights issues and offers valuable insights and practical advice.

For decades, she has been a staunch advocate for the empowerment of women and she is dedicated to gender equality. She has been at the forefront of the call for action to end violence against women.

Born in Mississippi, she earned a degree in Communications at Mississippi State University and went on to work in journalism, marketing, business, radio, and television.

Ms. Kent has been published in Forbes, Yahoo News, and HuffPost. She has worked and done philanthropic work in California, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Making a Meaningful Difference

Ms. Kent has used her platform to influence policy change and is constantly fighting for gender equality.

“My mission is achieving gender equality, promoting gender justice, and fostering an inclusive society,” said Kent. “I try to work with like-minded teams of people who are also interested and committed to positioning gender equality as a fundamental and sustainable goal.”

Over the years, she has worked closely with civil society organizations and governments to implement policies and services that benefit women. Her advocacy has been instrumental in governance systems.

“In my line of work, I have worked closely with policymakers to influence gender policies and practice,” said Kent. “I enjoy building support networks of solidarity on the wellbeing of historically oppressed communities.”

Ms. Kent fosters a culture encompassing positivity and inclusion; she facilitates dialogue on key issues; and she helps mobilize gender equality movements to support collective actions.

She recently sat on the board of directors for the national non-profit organization All Cops Ain’t Bad from May 2022 to January 2025 where she served as an advocate helping to bridge the gap between cops and the community and met with law enforcement advocating for victims.

Her social activism has had a significant impact on the lives of crime victims and she has championed bringing more attention to women who have been impacted by domestic violence for which she has helped to raise awareness to end violence against women worldwide.

“Working alongside impact teams, getting others active, and recruiting individuals to participate in critical missions to engage to help transform ideas and ideals recognizing potential solutions, and providing meaningful change is exciting,” said Kent.

“We must be intentional. By using our influence, activists, volunteers, and leaders can make a measurable difference and the impact would truly embody the power of purposefully working together to improve health & wellness and break down barriers,” said Kent.

“Mentoring is essential as is educating, informing, energizing, encouraging, and supporting young girls to aspire to inspire and be all that they can be by the example that we set forth.”

Ms. Kent says having good mentors has been instrumental to her success.

“We must continue to be the change that we want to see so that the younger generation will want to pick up the torch and carry on,” said Kent. “I believe this will create important and lasting change for good that will benefit more women and girls for generations to come.”

Her dedication has not gone unnoticed. Ms. Kent is the recipient of a Global Philanthropy Award from Empower Magazine and she has garnered a Humanitarian of the Year Award from the International Trailblazers Awards.

She has also been recognized by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., an international service organization with over 360,000 members, for her global humanitarian work with a Lifetime Community Service Award.

Ms. Kent’s passion to make a difference in the world and raise awareness is a call to action for change. She plans to continue to influence policies and practices at local, national, and global levels by using her knowledge, experience, and reach.
